In eastern Ladakh, where china and india have frequent clashes, the construction of a tunnel in this area is considered important for the military. The 825-crore Chila Tunnel in Arunachal Pradesh at an altitude of over 13,000 feet was inaugurated last March. Tunnels that are usually built in such data-border areas can also be used to store ammunition, missiles, fuel, and other important military equipment. According to reports, the central government is planning to build more tunnels in the data-border area. It is constructed with crossing tracks every 500 meters along the Shinkun La route.
The construction work is said to take at least two years to complete. Currently, the Mi La tunnel in china was built at the highest point in the world. Now Shinkun Law has got that honor. As for the Shinkun La area, it is covered in snow for about five months every year and traffic is completely cut off. At present, the construction of the tunnel here is ensuring connectivity in all areas in this area, officials said. The central government has improved various infrastructure facilities in the area from Eastern Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh, which is close to china, and various infrastructure works including the construction of roads, tunnels, and bridges have been intensified in this area.
