CCTV footage from a restaurant in Maheshwaram mandal, Rangareddy district, recorded an oddly comical scene of a thief having a very rough day at work. The video, which went viral right away, shows the masked criminal sneaking into the business and being unhappy that there aren't any goods inside.
It shows the thief frantically going through the restaurant, looking for anything that would be worth taking. But after a failed effort, he seemed clearly irritated and even addressed the security cameras directly with his disgust.
The thief chose to take a bottle of water from the refrigerator and left a Rs 20 note on the counter, probably to pay for the drink, after realising there was nothing else worth taking. What would normally be a severe crime is given a humorous interpretation by the CCTV footage.
The next morning, the restaurant owner saw the tape and called the police to report the break-in. The personnel at the restaurant and onlookers have found amusement in the peculiar behaviour of the thief as the authorities continue their investigation.
Online users were intrigued and amused by the footage, with many making jokes about the thief's integrity in paying for the water in spite of the break-in.
