A four-year-old girl who had been missing for three days was discovered dead in the Thippagondanahalli region of the Ramanagara district on monday night, according to police, and a 37-year-old male was taken into custody in relation to a rape-murder case. police claim that the event happened on July 20 when the suspect—who is also the girl's relative—visited their home. Under the guise of purchasing them ice cream, he brought the girl and another kid to a nearby store. The man is accused of taking the victim on his scooter without her parents' knowledge or consent after bringing the second child home.

Her mother became concerned and went in search of her daughter when she did not return home until late in the evening. After calling the suspect and getting no response regarding the girl's whereabouts, the woman reported the missing person to the Magadi police.

Police conducted a search operation in response to the report, looking through nearby CCTV footage to find evidence of the suspect's movements close to Thippagondanahalli. When the girl's body was subsequently discovered nearby, the police increased their hunt for the suspect, who they finally apprehended from a hiding place in Bengaluru's Kalasipalya neighborhood, according to the police.

The man has been charged with BNS Section 302 (murder), Section 135 (wrongful imprisonment), and POCSO, according to Inspector B.K. Prakash, the Magadi in-charge. According to authorities, the girl's body was submitted for a post-mortem examination before being given to her family on tuesday for the last rites.
