UNREAL DOWNFALL of Star Hero - Hit Machine to Disaster King

SIBY JEYYA
There was no denying that akshay kumar ruled bollywood from 2016 to 2019. A.KA. the "hit machine," his films were well-received at first and went on to become hits and super smashes. He produced four hits worth 200 crores net in 2019 alone: Kesari, Housefull 4, Mission Mangal, and Good Newz. But since the outbreak, things have significantly changed. These days, Akshay Kumar's films can barely gross 5 crores at opening, and his career earnings are closing in around 35 crores. The opening credits of his most recent flicks are as follows:

– Bell Bottom: 3 crores
– bachchan pandey (Holi): 12 crores
– Prithviraj: 9 crores
– Raksha Bandhan (Independence Day): 6 crores
– ram Setu (Diwali): 14 crores
– Selfiee: 2 crores
– Mission Raniganj: 2.5 crores
– Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (Eid): 13 crores
– Sarfira (expected): 2 crores

The collapse of Akshay is quite surprising. How can an actor who was previously well-liked become so despised that his films can't even bring in a lakh or two viewers? His most recent release, Sarfira, has gotten the same terrible reception as Selfiee and Mission Raniganj. Sarfira has sold almost 1,000 seats at popular cinema chains like PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis with just one day remaining. There are no reservations made in advance on BookMyShow for Mumbai's high-end single screens.

On its third Friday, Prabhas' two-week-old kalki 2898 AD, in contrast, outperformed Akshay's latest release in terms of show numbers and capacity screens. These days, even rajkummar rao is selling more seats. Tickets for Munjya, a movie featuring just a computer-generated AI monster instead of stars, sold ten times as many as those for Sarfira. A following of devoted admirers follow every famous hero in their movie no matter what. The fact that Sarfira was unable to sell 1,000 seats in advance raises the possibility that akshay kumar has lost all 1000 of his supporters.

Even Shah Rukh Khan, who went through a boring period between 2015 and 2018, made over 15 crores from his least anticipated flicks. An akshay kumar movie that opens with 15 crores sounds like a far-off fantasy these days. Sarfira's initial media evaluations are excellent. Even though Akshay has referred to it as the finest movie of his career, nobody is seeing it. A return from this point on for akshay kumar would be the ultimate miracle.
