Kallakurichi hooch tragedy - Death Rises to 61
The increase in fatalities coincided with the National Human Rights Commission's (NHRC) suo moto recognition of the occurrence, following which it sent notifications to the Director-General and Chief Secretary of the tamil Nadu Police, requesting a thorough report on the incident within seven days.
Stalin said that the state administration was "ready to reply to questions" and suspended the AIADMK MPs for the balance of the assembly term.
"However, this is not accepted by the opposition leaders, and speaking outside is unacceptable. "It's done for cheap publicity," the chief minister of tamil Nadu declared.
Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the leader of the Opposition, asserted that the suspension was "already planned."
The head of the AIADMK further stated that stalin responded in 15 minutes after they left the legislature on Tuesday. "There is a block on our voices," Palaniswami declared.
During the last several days, the AIADMK MPs have been photographed in the tamil Nadu assembly sporting black shirts, and they have reportedly been heard yelling slogans in protest of the hooch catastrophe. They were placed under suspension on tuesday for a full day, but that has already been extended.
