Tragic Train Collision in Bengal Leaves 8 Dead!!

In a tragic incident, eight people lost their lives and several others were injured when the Kanchanjunga Express derailed on monday following a collision with a goods train in Bengal's Siliguri. The express train was traveling from Tripura's Agartala to Sealdah station in kolkata when the accident occurred.
The collision was severe, causing at least two compartments of the Kanchanjunga Express to derail. In a dramatic scene, one of the derailed coaches was left suspended in the air, as depicted in visuals from the site. The accident took place in the Rangapani region of Siliguri, about seven kilometers from North Bengal's New Jalpaiguri station.
Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, working tirelessly to rescue those trapped and provide medical assistance to the injured. The local community and officials joined in the rescue efforts, demonstrating solidarity in the data-face of the disaster. The cause of the collision is under investigation, as authorities strive to understand how this devastating accident occurred and to prevent future tragedies.

According to the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of North Frontier Railway's Katihar division, the 13174 Kanchanjunga Express met with the accident at approximately 9 am. The accident involved the express train colliding with a goods train, leading to the derailment of at least two compartments, one of which was seen suspended in the air.
