Hyderabad welcomes monsoon showers - More Rainfall Expected
On Wednesday, the city saw its first monsoon rainfall of the year. In the evening, there were thunderstorms and high gusts together with heavy rain, which affected everyday life and caused water-logging in some regions. Dispersed showers of rain were seen in the afternoon in places like Dammaiguda, Mallapur, Kapra, Uppal, and Nacharam.
The sky darkened around sunset, and soon most of the city was submerged by torrential rain. The telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) reports that as of 6 p.m., nampally has recorded the maximum rainfall of 72.5 mm, followed by Khairatabad with 62.5 mm, bandlaguda and Asifnagar with 50.8 mm, and Shaikpet with 44.8 mm.
