She was deliberately chosen by the bjp to oppose the authority of All india Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chairman Asaduddin Owaisi. But despite all of the excitement around her candidature, madhavi Latha's election campaign turned out to be a letdown. She received just 3,23,894 votes in the lok sabha elections, whereas Owaisi won with a commanding lead of 6,61,981 votes. This wide disparity of more than 3,38,000 votes suggests that madhavi latha and the BJP's attempts to weaken Owaisi's grasp on hyderabad have been mostly unsuccessful.

The performance of the BJP's candidate, annamalai, in tamil Nadu was another blow to the party. Annamalai's candidature was highly anticipated, and he was expected to have a significant influence. But the election results painted a different picture.
