Rahul Gandhi takes massive lead in Wayanad

After two hours of counting, former congress president rahul Gandhi—who is running for reelection from Kerala's wayanad constituency—had amassed a margin of more than 45,000 votes over his closest competitor, cpi candidate Annie Raja. Early counting patterns were seen around 9.45 am. K Surendran, the state president of the bjp, is a distant third.
 

Since wayanad was established during the 2009 delimitation process, it has been a bastion for the congress party. The electorate, which has a sizable Muslim and tribal population, is located in the north Keralan districts of wayanad, Kozhikode, and Malappuram. gandhi won by more than 4.3 lakh votes in 2019, taking home 64% of the total 10.87 lakh votes cast. In her first lok sabha election, the cpi put Annie Raja, the wife of national secretary D Raja, up as its national council leader. Despite fielding its state president, the bjp has always struggled in this area.
 

Chandigarh: According to preliminary trends from the election Commission, the A was ahead in three seats and the congress was leading in seven seats in Punjab. The trends indicated that the A was leading in Hoshiarpur, Sangrur, and Patiala, and that the congress candidates were leading from Amritsar, Jalandhar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Anandpur Sahib, and ludhiana seats.
