Telangana Hyderabad - Locals Demand Re-Design of Skyway

SIBY JEYYA
The proposed elevated skyway between Gymkhana Grounds and Hakimpet air Force Station has to be redesigned, according to the locals. Since the government has begun marking the lands that will shortly be acquired, the locals are afraid that they may lose their properties as a result of the land acquisition. They insisted on a redesign of the entire plan or sufficient compensation for the lost land from the state and Cantonment.

Locals drew attention to the fact that while 200 feet of the road would be enlarged under the planned plan, many landowners would lose their properties in the process. From Trimulgherry X Roads to Jubilee bus Station (JBS) Secunderabad, almost all of the land is privately held. Said that it would be preferable if the competent authorities decreased the road expansion width from 200 feet to 150 feet.

They noted that it would be preferable to relocate the trees rather than chop them down because some of them are almost 500 years old. The reports state that the exit and entry ramps at Karkhana, Trimulgherry, and Alwal are suggested on both sides of the proposed 18-kilometer elevated skyway that will run between Gymkhana Grounds and Hakimpet Airforce Station.

Roughly one thousand owners may lose their homes. The marking process has commenced, with the majority of the impacted sites being in Karkhana and Trimulgherry due to the presence of properties that date back ten years. Before making a decision, it would be preferable if the relevant authorities had a meeting with the property owners, according to Trimulgherry resident Suresh.
