The telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) is conducting an extensive investigation to identify and rectify the underlying causes of power outages and tripping accidents. The study focuses on several key areas, including changes to the metal used in the channels of 33 KV and 11 KV poles, strategies for preventing interruptions caused by frequent jumper cuts at transformer AB switches, improvements to Horn Gap Fuses, and the implementation of dynamic thermal rating (DTR) structures.

Officials have acknowledged great success in reducing power disruptions. Over the last five months, outages on the 33 KV lines have decreased by 43.5%. The average monthly outage duration for a 33 KV feeder is now 26.7 minutes, a decrease from 47.3 minutes previously reported within SPDCL restrictions. By resolving these concerns, TGSPDCL hopes to improve power supply dependability and reduce interruptions for customers.

India is facing an electrical crisis exacerbated by a coal scarcity at over 150 power plants, while the country's power consumption rises due to a prolonged hot wave. The coal stock position at the Central election Authority (CEA)-supervised 173 power plants remained at 21.93 million tonnes (MT), which, according to a Nomura study, is below than the regulation need of 66.32 MT.
