Telangana - No profiteering from school uniforms & books - DEO

SIBY JEYYA
The district education Officer (DEO) of hyderabad issued directives against private schools that profit from the selling of school uniforms, books, and stationery to pupils. The May 30 directive directed all Deputy Educational Officers and Deputy Inspectors of Schools in the hyderabad area to guarantee that no private school administration, including State/CBSE/ICSE, sells uniforms, shoes, and belts on school grounds.

The official also directed all Deputy Educational Officers to organize mandal-level committees to monitor private schools regularly, as well as to guarantee that no private school administration in the hyderabad district sells uniforms, shoes, belts, or other items on school grounds. "Further, as per the court orders, the sale of books/notebooks/stationery at the school counter, if any, should be on a non-commercial, no-profit-no-loss basis, if so bring the notice of the undersigned for taking necessary action in the matter," it said.

The DEO's instruction requires all deputy educational officers and deputy inspectors of schools to guarantee compliance by forming mandal-level committees for frequent monitoring. "Any violations must be reported immediately so that appropriate action can be taken." "This enforcement is consistent with broader efforts to prevent commercial exploitation of parents and students within the educational framework," the notification stated. "Schools should focus on providing quality education and not operate as commercial entities," rohini emphasised in her instruction. The decree ensures that educational institutions refrain from any type of marketing on their campuses.
