The cybercrime police (Cyberabad) have filed a complaint against two individuals for allegedly uttering derogatory statements against Prophet Muhammad. Rajiv Singh and Satish Jadhav are the two men who uttered the anti-Muhammad statements. They shared the insults on instagram and in a whatsapp group in Hyderabad.

A complaint was filed against them with the jeedimetla police station, and a case was later opened under sections 153A, 504 of the indian Penal Code (IPC), and Section 66 of the IT Act. However, this is not the first time in recent memory that insults have been made about Prophet Muhammad. In 2022, bjp mla raja Singh published a video in which he made disparaging remarks about the then-Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government's decision to allow comedian Munawar Faruqui to perform in Hyderabad.

Raja Singh's words against Prophet Muhammad sparked a near-riot, with numerous Muslim youngsters taking to the streets in protest. The police subsequently arrested the bjp mla, who was imprisoned for almost three months and suspended from the party. His suspension was finally overturned, and he ran for the Goshamahal assembly seat in the previous year's assembly elections, winning. The bjp mla said that he did not want to offend the Prophet Muhammad and was only emulating Faurqui.
