Cyclone Remal - Storm Inches Closer
The india Meteorological Department (IMD) reported on sunday morning that Cyclone Remal, a deep depression over the Bay of bengal, has intensified into a cyclonic storm. It is expected to develop severe before making landfall between the beaches of West bengal and bangladesh on sunday night.
The storm is predicted to make landfall on sunday midnight after passing over West bengal and the neighbouring coastlines of bangladesh between Sagar Island and Khepupara at 110 to 120 kmph, with gusts up to 135 kmph. With strong winds and heavy rain, the weather authority anticipated that the cyclone will have a significant impact on Tripura, coastal bangladesh, West bengal, and a few other northeastern provinces.
