He called for the restoration of peace and security in the state, casting doubt on the election Commission's objectivity and responsiveness. He informed the media that the telugu desam party (TDP) was abusing its power to intimidate weaker and impoverished members of society and that police had not responded appropriately to reports about the violence it had used to disrupt elections and stymie YSRCP votes.
