Madhavi Latha Booked for Humiliating Muslim Women Voters

Madhavi Latha, the Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate for the hyderabad parliamentary seat, was accused on monday of dehumanizing Muslim women voters by requesting that they take off their burqas and expose their data-faces to disclose their identities.

After receiving a complaint from Ronald Rose, the hyderabad LS returning officer, the malakpet police filed a case against madhavi latha under Section 132 of the Representation of the people Act as well as Sections 171C (voluntarily interfering in the exercise of electoral right), 186 (voluntarily obstructing a public servant from discharging duties), and 505 (1)(c) (circulating a statement with the intent to incite a class or community) of the indian Penal Code.

Madhavi Latha stormed into an Azampura voting place early in the morning and demanded to know who the Muslim women voters were.

To confirm if the data-faces on their voter identification cards matched, she urged them to take off their burqas and reveal their identities.

Following the viral social media footage of madhavi Latha's interactions with Muslim women voters, the ec officials moved swiftly to initiate legal action against her.

"The police officers don't appear particularly lively; they seem pretty boring. Nothing is being checked by them. I had to do it because of this," she stated, adding that the votes of several elderly people had been removed from the voter list.

Madhavi Latha asserted that there was nothing improper about her choice to request identification verification from a few female voters.

She told reporters, "I am a candidate, and every candidate has the right to verify the credentials of the voters who were wearing burquas or data-face masks."

She claimed to have complete regard for women because she is a woman herself.

"All I asked them to do was reveal who they were. It is obvious that people are terrified of malpractice exposure if they make a huge deal out of it, the speaker stated.
