Kalki and Pushpa 2 - The Only Hope for Bollywood

G GOWTHAM
With april 2024 being one of the poorest months in recent memory, the bollywood film industry and theatre owners are facing enormous issues. A number of well-known films, such as Maidaan, LSD 2, Do Aur Do Pyaar, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and Ruslaan, failed to make even the bare minimum of money, placing a financial burden on theatres.

It has become harder for theatres, especially single screens, to survive because of the bad reviews these films have received in addition to their lack of distribution before the approaching elections. Many have been compelled to decrease the number of shows and the cost of tickets in an effort to draw in crowds.

With Pathaan and Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan's flicks alone last year helped the theatre sector rebound, but with a new disaster every week, bollywood is back to square one. In this difficult environment, expectations are high for forthcoming releases such as pushpa 2 and kalki 2898 AD. The telugu industry's pan-Indian films have created a lot of enthusiasm, especially pushpa 2, which is predicted to be a 500-crore hindi blockbuster that lights up single screens.

Pushpa 2 is expected to be a certain 50 crore opener, whereas kalki 2898 AD is predicted to debut with 15–18 crores in hindi markets. However, before these films have the ability to revitalise the theatre sector, theatre exhibitors could have to endure another six to seven weeks of hardships.
