Replying to PM Modi's 'insulted maharajas but quiet on horrors of sultans' assault on the wayanad MP, the congress claimed on sunday that PM Modi'maliciously distorts' every word made by party leader rahul gandhi to inflame communal biases and emotions.

PM Modi accused rahul gandhi of disparaging indian Rajas and Maharajas while keeping quiet about the horrors carried out by Sultans, Nawabs, Nizams, and Badshahs earlier today during an electoral rally in Karnataka. He was alluding to remarks made recently by rahul gandhi on the monarchical and maharajatic systems.

In response to PM Modi's remarks, congress General Secretary jairam ramesh declared that the PM had "gone beyond being pathetic" and that his campaign speeches were "shameful."

"He [PM Modi] maliciously and mischievously twists every statement of rahul gandhi to inflame, incite and ignite communal prejudices and passions. His exit is inevitable and his realisation of that is making him more and more desperate. His campaign speeches are shameful really," Ramesh said on X.

At a recent rally, the congress leader stated, "It was the rule of the Kings and the Maharajas, they could do whatever they wanted, if they wanted someone's land they would take it away, the congress party and our workers, along with the people of the country, achieved independence, brought democracy and changed the Constitution of the country."

"The statements by Congress's shehzada (Prince) were intentional, aimed at vote bank politics and appeasement," prime minister Modi attacked rahul gandhi over the statement.Shahzade talked disparagingly of rajas and maharajas, but he kept quiet about the "atyachar" that the nawabs, nizams, sultans, and badshahs of India's past had perpetrated. His tongue was sealed against them, yet he spoke ill of and insulted rajas and maharajas."
