Vishal Joins All-Time Disastrous Flops List

With some of the worst box office failures in recent memory, like Lal Salaam, Captain Miller, Ayalaan, and Rebel, tamil cinema is in a slump this year. They were enormous failures not only in tamil but also in their telugu and US counterparts. Another terrible tragedy from tamil history has emerged: Vishal's Rathnam, which was helmed by mass expert Hari. On its first day, the movie (all formats) only took in a pitiful 2 crore from India.

The collections from abroad were much more pitiful. The entire amount of money made abroad to far is only approximately $10,000 K, or roughly 8 lakhs INR.
It used to be thought in the telugu states that vishal was a good investment. However, he has totally lost his appeal in recent years, particularly in the telugu states. He was a minimum guarantee hero in the telugu states, with collections coming from B and C centres.

But with a steady stream of awful films, all that has vanished. Critics denounce Rathnam as just another antiquated, out-of-date, and fabricated action film that plays hell with the senses—especially in the graphic finale. It will be extremely difficult for vishal to recreate a market for himself in the telugu states going forward, following this historic catastrophe film, Rathnam.
