Pensions: EC Should Not Be A Paper Tiger

SIBY JEYYA
Chief Secretary jawahar reddy was again directed by the election commission to distribute pensions. In response to many complaints of deliberate complexity in pension distribution, the Commission requested that jawahar reddy make sure that pensions be distributed by permanent government personnel. The european Commission advised that should that not be feasible, the pensions be placed into bank accounts. The first of May is just four days away.

We witnessed the government purposefully complicating the pension distribution process last month, resulting in the deaths of thirty-two elderly persons. The government apparatus worked together to parade the pensioners for photo sessions with congress PARTY' target='_blank' title='ysr congress-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">ysr congress officials and cadres in front of the media. The election commission prohibited the use of Volunteers in pension distribution. However, CS jawahar reddy is charged with misinterpreting it to mean that Pensions home Delivery was prohibited, which is what caused such a commotion. The first week of May is expected to see even higher temperatures. The government does not appear to be at all ready for seamless distribution as of now.

The election commission has just restated its orders from march 30th. But what would happen if jawahar reddy chose to support the Ruling party once more? The election commission will, at most, relocate him and absolve him of his election-related responsibilities. However, he will have already completed the task by then. The polling will take place in less than two weeks if the pensions are disbursed between May 1 and May 4. congress PARTY' target='_blank' title='ysr congress-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">ysr congress will make every effort to seize this chance.

In this case, the election commission shouldn't be a Paper Tiger. The bjp is also being tested by this. Only a significant development in this case will demonstrate why the party's inclusion in the coalition makes sense.
