Telangana Political Campaign Cost - 20 Lakhs Per Day

SIBY JEYYA
Now that the telangana assembly elections are over, it is clear that major parties were engaged in a bitter political struggle using aggressive tactics. But as the lok sabha elections approach, everyone appears to lose some initial enthusiasm. Only forty days remain until the polling deadline, yet the major parties aren't putting the same energy into their campaigns.

Rather, only certain candidates are seen in public with their supporters. Full-fledged campaigning hasn't begun in assembly constituencies, and the usual election bustle is conspicuously absent. Parties are reluctant to start large-scale campaigns that might deplete their resources, and cost considerations appear to be the main motivating factor.

For example, campaign managers estimate that it might cost over Rs 20 lakh a day to conduct a large-scale campaign with workers in every assembly constituency. The main party leaders appear to be holding back, thinking that the 25-day polling period would be sufficient, and they want to step up their efforts until once the notice is made public on the 18th. As the telangana assembly elections are done and dusted, we witnessed a fierce political battleground with major parties employing competitive strategies.
