Revanth in Chaos to decide on Karimnagar

SIBY JEYYA
There appears to be continuous discussion and confusion inside the congress party over the choice of the candidate for the karimnagar parliamentary seat. The central election committee has met nine times, yet the problem has not been fixed. Rajender Rao had the backing of MPs such as minister Ponnam prabhakar in the beginning. praveen Reddy and Rajender Rao are two names that appear to be under consideration while deciding whether reddy or velama candidate should get the job.

It is now possible that BCs rather than these two socioeconomic groupings will be given the seat. Rudra Santoshkumar's name is also being considered, although Teenmar Mallanna, who is running from Bhuvanagiri, is being discussed as a possible replacement. This plan was brought before the central committee by party state affairs head Deepadas Munshi and chief minister Revanth Reddy. This might be the cause of the hold-up in declaring Rajender Rao's candidature. Rudra Santhoshkumar, however, has expressed apprehensions over the distribution of tickets to non-residents, contending that it may jeopardise the party's chances in the elections.

Additionally, there is concern that designating candidates as non-locals, as demonstrated by BRS candidate Boinapalli vinodkumar and bjp candidate bandi sanjay kumar, may hurt the Congress's chances even more. santosh kumar is stressing the significance of fielding a local candidate to thwart bjp advances by drawing attention to the fact that Vinod Kumar, who hails from a nearby district, earlier prevailed as karimnagar MP.
