IIT Madras graduate Pavan Davuluri is new Microsoft Windows boss

G GOWTHAM
Pavan Davuluri, a graduate of IIT Madras, has been named as the next leader of microsoft Windows and Surdata-face. Davuluri took up the position when the department's former head, Panos Panay, left. Last year, Panay resigned from his job to work for Amazon. Notably, microsoft separated the Surdata-face and Windows divisions, placing distinct CEOs in charge of both. Davuluri used to be in charge of Surdata-face silicone work, and Mikhail Parakhin was in charge of Windows. But since Parakhin wants to embark on "new roles," Davuluri is now in charge of Windows and Surdata-face.

Davuluri is connected to India. He obtained his degree from the esteemed IIT Madras. With this new post, he becomes one of the few indian executives in the US IT industry, following in the footsteps of Sundar Pichai and satya Nadella, among others. The Verge was able to get an internal letter sent by Microsoft's chief of experience and devices, Rajesh Jha, announcing Parakhin's resignation and announcing Davuluri's new post. Jha will be Davuluri's new supervisor.

“As part of this change, we are bringing together the Windows Experiences and Windows + Devices teams as a core part of the Experiences + Devices (E+D) division. This will enable us to take a holistic approach to building silicon, systems, experiences, and devices that span Windows client and cloud for this AI era. Pavan Davuluri will lead this team and continue to report to me. shilpa Ranganathan and Jeff Johnson and their teams will report directly to Pavan. The Windows team will continue to work closely with the microsoft AI team on AI, silicon, and experiences,” he wrote.
