Unrest brews in Telangana Congress over preference to turncoats

SIBY JEYYA
There is growing discontent among telangana congress leaders over the preference given to disloyal candidates when it comes to receiving tickets to contest elections and positions. Former mp V Hanumanth Rao voiced similar views on saturday, after tpcc senior vice president G Niranjan's request to the AICC not to support defectors from Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) running for office.

Three of the five candidates for the State's lok sabha elections, Sunitha Mahender Reddy, Danam Nagender, and Ranjith Reddy, recently joined the congress from the BRS. These three candidates are included in the AICC's second list. Apart from this, Pasunuri Dayakar, the BRS mp for warangal, was considered one of the possible candidates for the warangal seat on behalf of the congress, given his recent allegiance to the ruling party. Hanumanth Rao informed the media on saturday that a lot of leaders who wanted to run in the polls were not satisfied with the manner the State leadership was choosing to field disloyal candidates from other parties.

How is it possible to provide one family two or three tickets? Disappointed are party activists, according to Hanumanth Rao.

The ex-MP also said that chief minister A revanth reddy was not scheduling an appointment for him to hear some of the party leaders' points of view.

"Time is not being given by the Chief Minister." He went on, "A leader should always listen to both sides before enforcing justice.
