Telangana - Same contestants but with different political identities in Chevella

SIBY JEYYA
This time, competing on separate party tickets, the Chevella lok sabha constituency's winner and runner-up from the 2019 elections will data-face off. Due to the Bharat Rashtra Sami (BRS) denying him renomination, sitting mp G. Ranjith reddy will be running as a candidate for the Congress. Ranjith reddy was able to secure a ticket from the state's ruling party just a few days after deciding to defect to the congress party.

Konda Vishweshwar reddy of the bjp will be his opponent, while Kasani Gnaneshwar mudiraj of BRS is the third contender to watch in this seat that consists of assembly constituencies outside of Hyderabad.
Vishweshwar reddy ran unsuccessfully for congress in the prior election before winning the seat of Chevella in 2014 on the trs (now BRS) platform. Using the bjp ticket, he is trying his luck in politics this time.
Chevella was established in 2009 as a consequence of the delineation of seats, and it has now seen three elections. It was here that S. Jaipal reddy, a senior congress politician, was elected in 2009.
The BRS, which is looking for a hat-trick, has fielded Kasani Gnaneshwar mudiraj, who resigned as telugu desam party (TDP) state chief and joined BRS last year after tdp decided not to contest the elections in Telangana.

BRS to data-face a daunting task

Political observers predict that BRS will have a difficult time holding onto the seat since it has been weakened after congress defeated it in the polls in november 2023.

The KCR-led party has suffered a blow due to the defection of a few important figures. Among the BRS leaders who have defected to the congress are former minister and MLC Patnam Mahender reddy, his wife Sunitha reddy, who also serves as chair of the Vikarabad Zilla Parishad, former Maheswaram mla Teegala krishna Reddy, and his daughter Teegala Anitha reddy, who is the chair of the Rangareddy Zilla Parishad.

The seven assembly segments that make up the Chevella lok sabha constituency are Maheswaram, Rajendranagar, Serilingampally, Chevella, Pargi, Vikarabad, and Tandur.

In the most recent assembly elections, congress won three segments while BRS easily won the four assembly seats that are located in the Rangareddy district.

Former minister Sabitha indra Reddy, who was elected to the BRS in 2018 after defecting from the congress, represents the Maheswaram segment.

Assembly Speaker Gaddam prasad Kumar is the representative for the Vikarabad segment.
