Zomato, which has introduced 'Pure Veg Mode' and 'Pure Veg Fleet' for its 100 percent vegetarian customers, has now made a major announcement. zomato is the most popular food delivery app in India. Yesterday zomato launched a new delivery system for vegetarians called 'Pure Veg Mode'. Online food delivery company zomato has introduced 'Pure Veg Mode' and 'Pure Veg Fleet' for customers who eat only 100 percent vegetarian food. zomato founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal officially announced this. In his announcement, he said, “India has the largest number of vegetarians in the world. An important feedback we got from them is that they are very particular about how their food is cooked and handled. For customers who prefer 100% vegetarian food according to their preferences, zomato today introduces "Pure Veg Mode" along with "Pure Veg Fleet".
This Pure Veg mode will feature only restaurants that serve pure vegetarian food. It does not include any restaurant serving non-vegetarian food. Our exclusive Pure Veg option will only deliver orders received from these Pure Veg restaurants. That means non-veg food or even veg food from a non-veg restaurant will not fit in our Pure Veg Green Delivery Bag. This Pure Veg Mode or Pure Veg Option does not have any religious or political affiliation. This is not a decision taken to alienate any religion,” it said. In the data-face of increasing criticism on social media, Somato has withdrawn from its announcement.


Deepinder Goyal, Founder and CEO of zomato, said in a statement, “We have decided to remove the special facility for vegetarians. We ensure that our red uniform delivery partners do not mis-associate with non-vegetarian food. You made us understand the unintended consequences of this release. We look forward to continuing to serve you,” he said, putting an end to the controversy.
