Senior Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader T. harish rao has asked the telangana government to give money to farmers who lost a lot of money because of the unseasonal rainfall. According to the former minister, farmers whose crops were harmed should receive compensation from the government equal to Rs. 10,000 per acre. He said that strong winds and hail damaged crops in areas like Adilabad, Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Rajanna Sircilla, Medak, Siddipet, and Rangareddy. He claimed that the hailstorm had left farmers in tears just as the crops were about to be harvested.

Farmers have suffered significant losses as a result of damage to horticulture crops including papaya and mango as well as rice, maize, and sorghum crops.
He noted that in the past, chief minister KCR personally visited and consoled farmers who had suffered losses due to late rainfall. He immediately declared that farmers would get Rs. 10,000 per acre in compensation.
Unseasonal rains have been battering parts of the state for the past two to three days, but harish rao said the current administration has not responded. He said that the congress administration, which just engages in politics and has no regard for farmers, had to wake up and provide farmers with all the assistance they need.
The BRS leader claimed that the government needs to provide compensation of Rs. 10,000 per acre right away, in addition to evaluating the agricultural loss resulting from unseasonal rainfall.

Harish Rao posted on ‘X’ a government Order issued in april last year to release Rs.151.56 crore towards the compensation for farmers, whose crops suffered extensive damage due to thunder and hailstorms between march 17 and march 21, 2023, in 26 districts. Nearly 1.31 lakh farmers were paid compensation of Rs.10,000 each.
