It has been revealed that the CSK team and its parent company india Cements have donated Rs.8 crore to DMK and Rs.5 crore to AIADMK through electoral bonds. CSK team has played 14 seasons of IPL and won the title 5 times till now. dhoni has been the captain of the CSK team since 2008 till now. Srinivasan, chairman of india Cements and former bcci president, is the owner of this team. CSK and india Cements donated Rs 13 Crores to DMK and AIADMK through Electoral Bonds.
CSK was already banned from playing in 2016 and 2017. CSK and rajasthan were banned by the lodha panel after being implicated in gambling allegations. Due to this, players including dhoni and Ashwin were signed for 2 years for the pune team. Similarly, AIADMK has received Rs.6 crore through Electoral Bonds. In this, CSK team owner Srinivasan's india Cements has given Rs 8 crore to DMK. Similarly, it has been revealed that the CSK team has given Rs.5 crore out of the Rs.6 crore given to the AIADMK. On april 12, 2019, it came to light that CSK team management had given funds to AIADMK. It is noteworthy that the management of the CSK team is showing closeness with the DMK while former minister Ponmudi's son ashok Chikamani is acting as the TNCA president.
