The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has submitted its initial supplementary chargesheet on march 13 in the pune ISIS arms and explosives confiscation case, adding four more defendants and intensifying charges against one existing defendant. Identified as Mohammad Shahnawaz Alam, Rizwan Ali, Abdullah Shaikh, and Talha Liaquat Khan, the four additional defendants were implicated in the plot alongside Shamil Nachan, an accused previously named in the initial chargesheet.

The case, which emerged in July the previous year, has seen 11 defendants charged so far for the confiscation of weaponry, explosives, chemicals, and ISIS-related literature. According to NIA findings, all accused are linked to the proscribed terrorist group ISIS, actively promoting terrorist activities and conspiring to sow terror in and around pune, Maharashtra.

Investigations unveiled their communication with foreign handlers via encrypted apps, their acquisition of funds through armed robberies and thefts, and the receipt of financial aid from their handlers to execute their sinister plans. The defendants, trained in crafting improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Kondhwa, pune, had surveyed locations earmarked for terrorist attacks. Their targets included various metropolitan areas in maharashtra and Gujarat.

Further probing revealed their firearms training in preparation for the attacks. Recovered evidence includes handwritten notes from IED training sessions, drones, clothing, and the knife used during the 'Ba'ith' (oath) ceremony pledged in the Caliph's name. Beyond Shamil Nachan, the original chargesheet also implicates Mohammad Imran, Mohammad Yunus Saki, Qadir Dastagir Pathan, Seemab Qazi, Zulfikar ali Barodawala, and Akif Nachan. The NIA continues its investigations into the matter.
