Good Talk, But NO Box Office Numbers

SIBY JEYYA
On the eighth of this month, the Telugu-dubbed version of the malayalam movie Premalu debuted in theaters. When the movie was first released in malayalam, it already had a good impact, and the telugu version had a decent first welcome. Even though Premalu is receiving positive reviews, its box office chances appear to be severely constrained. The movie's first-day box office receipts are extremely low.

Considering the film's juvenile theme, Premalu also received rather good reviews, although its box office reaction was not very encouraging. The absence of any well-known data-faces seems to be counterproductive in this situation. We'll have to wait and see how the telugu version does over the weekend, though, as there isn't much on the line. Karthikeya, the son of Rajamouli, released the movie in Telugu.

Although the dialogue and dubbing were highly liked, there isn't much attention among telugu people. The two alternatives that the telugu people have are Gaami and Bhimaa, and they are eroding Premalu's chances. Maybe it would have done better as a standalone release. Premalu is a skillfully written and performed romantic comedy that appeals to its intended demographic despite its formulaic plot. The text and little details are appropriately modified to give the native feel the much-needed freshness. If you enjoy the genre and don't mind the formulaic storyline, watch it.
