An investment swindle claimed the life of a 43-year-old Hyderabadi man who lost an incredible Rs 89.35 lakh. Cybercriminals enticed the victim, whose name has not been revealed, using a link they sent him over WhatsApp. The victim was lured in by the con artists' promises of large profits from initial public offers (IPOs) and online stock trading. The individual joined the trading site after falling victim to a fraudulent scam, allured by the promise of big rewards.
The victim made a small initial investment of a few thousand rupees. Nonetheless, he persisted in making investments, ultimately contributing Rs 89,35,100, drawn by the fraudulent accounts' extravagant returns guarantees.
The victim quickly discovered that he was unable to withdraw any money from his virtual trading accounts, despite having made sizable bets. Even worse, when he tried to make withdrawals, he was forced to pay more money on a variety of pretenses.
The man posted a video message about his terrifying encounter in hyderabad in an attempt to warn others against falling for similar frauds. He advised people to be cautious and not respond to dubious investment proposals that are being shared on messaging services like WhatsApp.
