Telangana - CM to lay foundation for Hyderabad metro works in Old City on Mar 7
The proposal calls for expanding current metro lines to neighboring locations for city expansion and integrating metro rail connections in the Musi riverside East-West corridor.
To complete the green line linking JBS in secunderabad and Falaknuma in the Old City, the hyderabad Metro rail Limited has tentatively selected locations for five metro stations near important monuments, including Salarjung Museum, Charminar, Shalibanda, Shamsheergunj, and Falaknuma.
"Even though metro services in hyderabad began operating in 2017, the AIMIM's concerns caused the metro construction at the mahatma gandhi bus Stand (MGBS) to cease. In addition to rejecting the other path that the AIMIM had proposed, L&T also said that it was unable to complete the work since the project's cost had gone up and the agreement's duration had passed.
Niranjan added that AIMIM MLAs "put up obstacles to the original proposal of the Old City Metro" even at the all-party meeting called by the state administration on december 9, 2014.
The senior vice president of tpcc requested an apology from AIMIM leaders, holding them accountable for the project's seven to eight-year delay.
"The public wants the chief minister to prioritize making metro services accessible to everyone as soon as possible and to release the necessary funds for these works without any obstacles," he stated.
