On Saturday, february 24, Muslim students at K v Ranga reddy Degree college for women in Santoshnagar staged a protest against the administration, claiming they had been denied permission to perform namaz. On the social networking site X (previously Twitter), videos of several Muslim students demonstrating and holding signs that read, "We want permission for namaz," have appeared.
Some Muslim students have reportedly complained that the administration misbehaved by destroying their ID cards and threatening to expel them from college, according to local news.
The college has already made headlines for forbidding Muslim students from practicing their religion.
According to locals, the protest within the facility persisted for three days in a row, albeit briefly.
The students accused the management six months ago of forbidding them from donning headscarves. The police's intervention ended the matter.
