Telangana Hyderabad - Water Crisis and Govt Devises an Action Plan
A revanth reddy, the chief minister of telangana, has made it a priority to ensure that everyone in the state has access to clean drinking water as summer approaches. On Thursday, february 22, in the Dr. BR Ambedkar Secretariat, a meeting with senior officials from several departments resulted in the creation of an action plan in this respect.
The conversation focused on how inadequate rainfall is causing reservoir water levels to drop, raising fears about possible emergency scenarios.
To meet the impending demand for drinking water, the government also intends to write to the krishna river Management Board (KRMB) requesting authorization to extract water from the Sagar and srisailam projects.
Using the Kagna River as an example, the chief minister addressed the necessity for proactive actions and emphadata-sized the underutilized potential of diverse water resources. To satisfy the rising demand for drinking water, he asked officials to look into ways to use such resources efficiently.
Against its total storage capacity of 18.98 TMC, the project's water levels have fallen to about 11 TMC with almost one TMC decreasing per week.

Concerning outstanding pay for Rural Water Supply (RWS) employees, the cm also instructed the Finance department to transfer cash right once to resolve the matter.
The telangana government hopes to prevent any shortages of drinking water during the summer by putting these safeguards in place beforehand.
