This theater in ashok Nagar was running with three screens namely Chandran, Udayam, and Surya. After Corona, people's attendance at theaters has decreased drastically. Especially people were showing more interest in going to multiplex theaters than going to old theatres. Udayam Theatre, which was a symbol of chennai, used to screen as before without making any changes according to the times. Due to this, the crowd of fans there became low day by day. Due to this, the theater owner decided to sell it and sold it to a leading construction company for a huge amount. The agreement was signed only 10 days ago.
