Indian band shakti wins Best Global Album..!?
The band 'Shakti' from india was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Global music Album. The Grammy Awards are the highest award given in the music industry worldwide. The Grammy Awards are presented every year by The Recording Academy of America. In that way, the Grammy Award ceremony for the year 2024 was held yesterday in the city of Los Angeles, USA. The award for Best Global music Album was given to the indian band 'Shakti'. The award was given for the band's latest album "This Moment". The album features 8 songs composed by guitarist john McLaughlin, tabla player Ustad Zakir Hussain, singer Shankar Mahadevan, percussionist v Selvaganesh, and violinist Ganesh Rajagopalan.

Apart from shakti Band, other artists such as Susanna Bacca, Bogante, Burna Boy, and Davido were nominated at this Grammy ceremony. Despite stiff competition, shakti has won the Grammy Award for Best Universal music Album. The album This Moment was released on june 30 last year. It is said that every musician featured in the shakti band recorded and sent their part from their hometown.

Shakti is an amazing fusion band that mixes indian classical music with jazz. Founded in 1973 by jazz guitarist john McLaughlin along with virtuoso classical indian musicians, the band has been instrumental in expanding musical boundaries beyond Western traditions. The band released several albums including shakti in 1976, A Handful of beauty (1977), and Natural Elements in 1977, and last year, shakti celebrated its 50th anniversary with an extensive 27-city tour. The tour featured 17 shows across the United States.
The tour not only celebrated the band's rich history but also showcased their popularity and the respect they command in the global music community.
