India will replace military troops on Maldivian aviation platforms...

Following Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu's demand that indian military personnel leave his nation by march 15, india announced on friday that it and the maldives had reached a "set of mutually workable solutions" regarding the continuation of indian aviation platforms' operations in the island nation. By May 10, india will replace its military troops running the three aviation platforms in the maldives, according to a statement from the Maldivian foreign ministry. Additionally, it stated that the process's first phase will be finished by march 10.

The declaration followed a high-level meeting between the two parties in the midst of the diplomatic dispute in Delhi. "Both sides agreed that the government of india will replace the military personnel in one of the three aviation platforms by march 10, and will complete replacing military personnel in the other two platforms by May 10," the Maldivian foreign ministry stated in a statement. Muizzu, who is regarded as a pro-Chinese leader, requested last month that india remove all of its armed forces from the island nation by march 15.

Following the core-group meeting, both sides "agreed on a set of mutually workable solutions to enable the continued operation of indian aviation platforms" that provide humanitarian and medical evacuation services to Maldivians, according to a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

According to the statement, the two parties carried on their conversation about a wide range of topics pertaining to their bilateral cooperation in an effort to determine how to improve their relationship going forward, including how to move forward with the current development cooperation projects more quickly. The next high-level core group meeting would take place in Male at a mutually convenient time, it was decided, according to the MEA. Currently, over eighty indian military troops are stationed in the maldives, mostly to fly an aircraft and two helicopters that have conducted hundreds of humanitarian relief and medical evacuation operations.
