Telangana Hyderabad - Auto Driver set his auto afire in protest against the Mahalakshmi scheme

On Thursday, an auto-rickshaw driver from Telangana's mahbubnagar district set fire to his vehicle outside Praja Bhavan in protest of the Mahalakshmi free bus trip initiative. Before the cops could react, Deva, the driver, ignited a matchstick and set fire to the car. He shouted anti-government chants and poured petrol on him. Firefighters responded quickly and extinguished the fire.
Alert police officers stopped his attempt to light himself on fire. A police officer pulled a blanket from the scene and put it around the car driver. He was eventually put into custody. auto drivers in telangana have been protesting and demanding the termination of the Mahalakshmi plan, alleging it is harming their earnings. A petition has also been filed in the high court against the program.
The congress administration immediately implemented the programme that had been promised during the assembly elections. auto rickshaw drivers claim the initiative has impacted their daily revenue. They held rallies in numerous regions, demanding that the government provide financial aid to help them recover from their losses. Praja Bhavan, formerly Pragati Bhavan, was the official house of Telangana's chief minister under the BRS administration. It is presently the official house of deputy chief minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, as well as the site of twice-weekly public grievance hearings.
