Finance minister nirmala sitharaman will present the budget on february 1, 2024 (tomorrow). As lok sabha elections will be held in (probably) April-May this year, the budget presented on february 1 will be an interim budget. Until the new government is formed, revenue and expenditure estimates are presented in the interim budget so that there is no problem in the smooth functioning of the country's economy and confidence in the economy is maintained.
The entire official procedure is followed before presenting the budget. Accordingly, first, the Finance minister will leave her house for North Block. After meeting all the officials and getting approval from the President, the work will be completed. Once the budget is approved in the cabinet meeting, the Finance Minister's budget speech will begin at 11 am in Parliament.

Today, the first day of the budget session, President draupadi murmu will address both the Houses of parliament jointly.
