Gunfight with Maoists: 3 Security Personnel Dead, 14 Injured...

Tuesday's shootout between Maoists and security officers at the Bijapur-Sukma data-border in chhattisgarh resulted in up to three security personnel being killed and fourteen others being injured. For treatment, the injured troops were sent to raipur, which is around 400 miles away from Sukma. The incident happened when the security personnel were setting up a security camp. Earlier today, the Naviev Security Camp was set up in Tekalgudem village, in the data-border area of district Sukma/Bijapur, with the aim of curbing Naxal activity and providing the local population with basic necessities. Maoists started shooting at the CoBRA/STF/DRG unit that was patrolling the Jonaguda-Aliguda region after the camp was set up. Within twenty-four hours of the camp being operationalized, there was an attack.

The Maoists were forced to flee into the forest in fear of the security forces' retaliatory and appropriate response to their firing. There were 14 injured soldiers and 3 dead in the aforementioned encounter. The wounded soldiers are being transported to raipur for medical attention and are reportedly not in danger. While returning from an outpost in Sukma in december 2023, Maoists opened fire on Central Reserve police Force (CRPF) officers, resulting in one death and one injury.

A unit from the CRPF's 165th battalion was conducting an anti-Naxal operation when the event happened in the early hours of the morning in Bedre village, which is within the jurisdiction of Jagargunda police station in Sukma.
