Passenger calls first flight with pet dog on Akasa Air ‘horrible’ - Airline Replies

A LinkedIn user's joy over his first pet-friendly flight turned into a nightmare when he flew with Akasa air from ahmedabad to Bengaluru on january 26th. He had paid Rs 5,000 for a pet ticket, expecting a comfortable travel for himself, his wife, and his Shih Tzu. However, the experience did not live up to expectations.
According to a tweet posted by Lakshya Pathak, the aircraft, which was supposed to leave at 10.20 p.m., was delayed by more than three hours and took off at 1.40 a.m. Pathak and his family ended up spending more than six hours at the airport. To make matters worse, the ground staff and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) members looked to have no idea how to handle pet-related concerns and were useless.

Pathak's agony continued aboard the flight. Despite the airline's ads, there were no specific accommodations for dogs. The boarding procedure alone took 40 minutes, and the cabin stayed extremely heated since the air conditioner was not turned on. This created discomfort not just for the travellers, but also for their canine friend.
"The team looked bereft of all rationality. We were dealing with one steward, who stated that if I, a passenger in the window seat, maintained the pet container on my lap, it would "restrict" the mobility of other passengers," he wrote.
"The steward failed to understand that if a pet is unable to breathe in the container, the only solution is to let his data-face out and allow him to breathe." Throughout the journey, I had to firmly put my crying pet's head into the container many times," the post said.
The event drew the attention of social media users as Pathak mentioned the Animal Welfare Society india and PETA in his tweet.
