Telangana Hyderabad - Fake accounts of ACB DG C.V. Anand spread misinformation on social media
A city doctor who wanted to supplement his income with a part-time employment was tricked by cybercriminals out of Rs.19.7 lakh. The complainant, a 40-year-old Kondapur resident, works at a private hospital in Kukatpally. A few months ago, the doctor got a message on his Telegram account offering a nice wage for part-time tasks. The doctor indicated his interest in the position after believing it was real.
According to police sources, the cyber fraudsters obtained his personal information and bank credentials under various pretexts before extracting money and defrauding him. Based on his report, the Cyberabad Cybercrime police opened a case and conducted an investigation. The number of Cyber Frauds are increasing in the city everyday and people should be extra cautious before falling for these traps.
