27 bottles of liquor and two cases of beer were recovered from the Saurashtra cricket Association Under-23 team at chandigarh airport.
Cricketers in Saurashtra's under-23 squad for the CK Naidu Trophy have come under fire for carrying bottles of liquor and beer in their kit bags.
According to media reports, liquor bottles and beer were found in the kit bags of five under-23 cricketers of the Saurashtra cricket Association. On 25 January, Saurashtra defeated hosts chandigarh in the CK Naidu Trophy at home. After this, Saurashtra cricketers were checked at chandigarh airport while returning to Rajkot. Then the customs officials were shocked to find liquor bottles in the kit bag of some players. 27 bottles of liquor and 2 cases of beer were seized from 5 cricketers from Saurashtra. Almost 24 hours after the incident, the police have not registered a case.
Customs officials immediately informed the Saurashtra cricket Association about the presence of liquor and beer bottles in the kits of the concerned players Prasham Rajdev, Samarth Gajjar, rakshit Mehta, Parshwaraj Rana and Smitraj Jalani.

Following this, the Saurashtra cricket Association has issued a statement. An alleged incident in chandigarh has been brought to the notice of the Saurashtra cricket Association, which is very unfortunate and cannot be tolerated at any time. The Saurashtra cricket Association Ethics and Disciplinary Committee and the supreme Council will conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident and take appropriate disciplinary action, the statement said.
