Biggest cruise ship in the world sets sail for its maiden journey!!!

The largest cruise ship in the world, measuring over four city blocks, is scheduled to set sail on its inaugural journey on saturday from the Port of Miami. Icon of the seas by Royal Caribbean is approximately 1,200 feet (365 meters) long from bow to stern. With assistance from soccer legend Lionel Messi and his Inter Miami teammates, the ship was formally christened on tuesday before setting off from South florida on its inaugural seven-day island-hopping journey across the tropics.

As stated earlier this week by Jason Liberty, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, "Icon of the seas is the result of over 50 years of dreaming, inventing, and living our mission – to deliver the best vacation experiences responsibly."

As online reservations for Royal Caribbean vacations soar, the ship sets sail. The company's nine-month "Ultimate World Cruise" has captured the attention of a devoted social media audience since December, but it has also confused them.

With the passengers living and posting their lives on a vessel they will be on for almost a year, millions of people are following the adventure via their eyes. It may sound like a reality show, and for good reason—some viewers have made it into just that. According to Royal Caribbean, the ship caused the single greatest booking day and the highest volume booking week in the company's 53-year history when it was originally unveiled in october 2022. The Icon of the seas is divided into eight neighborhoods spread over 20 decks. In addition to six waterslides, seven swimming pools, an ice skating rink, a theater, and other amenities, the ship boasts over forty restaurants, bars, and lounges. The ship can hold 2,350 employees and 7,600 people when it is fully loaded.
