Shashi Tharoor on INDIA bloc seat-sharing
"The whole coalition and seat-sharing are being addressed on a state by state basis. No one will have a one-data-size-fits-all solution. "The story will be different in each state," Tharoor told reporters in Kolkata. "I think we are all focused on the imperative need to change the Union government and that is the ultimate objective," he went on to say.
Tharoor's comment comes as the india coalition is in trouble, with bihar chairman minister and JD(U) chairman nitish kumar indicating a flip to the nda with his party claiming on saturday that the opposition alliance is crumbling.
According to reports, Kumar is also furious with the india group over failed seat-sharing discussions.
The congress said that the bjp is attempting to trigger a "mini implosion" in the partnership.
The congress, on the other hand, expressed confidence that both bihar Chief minister nitish kumar and TMC Chief mamata banerjee, who are co-architects of the india bloc, would remain in the alliance, despite Banerjee's announcement that her party TMC would fight the lok sabha elections "alone" in the state.
Meanwhile, if nitish kumar decides to rejoin the nda, it will deal another major blow to the opposition front created to oppose the BJP.
Kumar joined the RJD, created by his erstwhile arch-rival Lalu Prasad, in august 2022, after breaking relations with the BJP.
In light of the rapid political events in bihar, the congress selected former chhattisgarh Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel as senior observer, and he travelled to patna on saturday to meet with other parties and assess the situation inside the party.
