Stage collapses at Delhi's Kalkaji temple during event - 1 Dead

A platform within the Kalkaji Mandir in delhi collapsed during a religious rite on saturday midnight, killing one woman and injuring 17 others. police said the woman was driven to the hospital by two persons in an automobile, but she was declared dead when she arrived. Attempts are ongoing to identify the lady.
The injured patients were sent to AIIMS Trauma Centre, Safdarjung Hospital, and MAX Hospital. They are presently in stable condition, including those who got fractures. The event occurred at the temple around midnight on saturday during 'Jagarana' or 'Jagrata', a Hindu ceremony that includes all-night vigils, music, dances, and worship in honour of the god. When famed indian musician and music producer b praak performed at the event, some individuals clambered on the stage, delighted. The stage was unable to take the tremendous weight and collapsed as a consequence.
Southeast delhi DCP Rajesh Deo told india Today that the organisers had expanded the data-size of the festival, which has been held at the Kalkaji Mandir for 26 years. He also stated that there was a gathering of around 1,500 to 1,600 individuals at midnight on saturday, and no authorization was obtained to host the event. Rajesh Deo, on the other hand, stated that there were enough police officers on the temple grounds to keep the peace.
