Nitish Kumar's ghar wapsi will be multibagger for BJP
It puts the bjp back in the game in bihar, increases its prospects of winning more seats in bihar in the 2024 general elections, and, most crucially, sends a major blow to the india bloc at the national level. Everyone I spoke with agreed that bihar was in a state of flux and that nitish kumar would most certainly rejoin the BJP. Nitish left the bjp for the RJD-Congress coalition less than a year and a half ago.
The parties' positions in bihar leave plenty of space for backroom conversations and maneuvering. Lau Yadav's RJD has the most MLAs, with 79, followed by the bjp, which has 78. Nitish Kumar's JD(U) has 45 MLAs, while the congress has 19. The Left parties hold 14 seats. The Mahagathbandhan has 160 MLAs in the assembly of 243 members.
According to sources, the RJD was planning to manufacture a split in the JD(U) and establish a government with Tejashwi Yadav as chief minister. He expected assistance from other mahagathbandhan parties.
Nitish Kumar was mired in a political quagmire. And he extended his hand to meet the BJP's.
