"Chief minister Eknath Shinde did a terrific job. Our demonstration is done. Our request has been approved. We will receive the letter from him. "I will drink juice from the hands of the chief minister tomorrow (Saturday)," Jarange Patil informed reporters. His declaration came as the quota activists' protest march, which began in Jalna on january 20, was scheduled to approach mumbai on Saturday.

The maharashtra government issued a government Resolution (GR) on caste reservation, and Ministers deepak Kesarkar and Mangal Prabhat lodha delivered a letter to Manoj Jarange Patil informing him that all of his demands had been met. maharashtra minister Mangal Prabhat also said that the demonstrators had'reached a resolution' on Friday.

"A campaign in maharashtra for maratha reservation, led by Manoj Jarange Patil, has found a solution today... The legislation enacted today provides a solution to all of the difficulties," the minister stated. He continued, "Manoj Jarange Patil has proclaimed that there is no need to prolong the demonstrations now that the answer has been received. cm Eknath Shinde will break Manoj Jarange Patil's fast with juice. "The movement has found a solution."

According to official sources, the procedure of awarding caste certificates to people whose data has been compiled will begin immediately.

The government has also promised to remove complaints against Marathas filed during the reservation protests.

Manoj Jarange has also requested that the Shinde Committee extend its time period for finding records in Marathwada. The administration has also accepted this demand.

The government Resolution on maratha Reservation will be enacted into law at the forthcoming session in February.

For more than a decade, the maratha group, which accounts for around 33% of Maharashtra's population, has demanded reservations in education and government positions. In 2019, the state government awarded them 16% reserve, which exceeded the supreme Court's 50% ceiling.

In 2021, the supreme court overturned the 16% quota, citing the 50% ceiling. Since then, demonstrations have persisted, led by various leaders and organisations, frequently resulting in violent agitations.
