Ilaiyaraaja's daughter Bhavatharini passes away from cancer...


On january 25, Bhavatharini, a playback singer and daughter of music director Ilaiyaraaja, passed away from cancer. She reportedly traveled to sri lanka for liver cancer treatment. But in sri lanka, she passed away at about five o'clock in the evening. Tomorrow, january 26, her remains will be transported to Chennai, when the last ceremonies will be performed. Her spouse has survived her. 47 was Bhavatharini's age. She is the sister of yuvan shankar raja and karthik Raja, and the daughter of Ilaiyaraaja. Her rendition of the tamil song "Mayil Pola Ponnu Onnu" from the movie "Bharathi" got her the National Film Award for Best Female Playback vocalist.

Bhavatharini, the daughter of Ilaiyaraaja, was a composer and playback vocalist. She has been receiving treatment for liver cancer for the last six months. She was recently brought to sri lanka for more medical care, where she passed away in a for-profit facility.

ABOUT BHAVATHARINI

'Raasaiya' marked Bhavatharini's vocal debut. She subsequently began singing songs for her brothers, yuvan shankar raja and karthik Raja, as well as her father, Ilaiyaraaja.

She had also performed songs for Sirpy and Deva, two composers.

She became a composer for "Mitr, My Friend," which Revathy directed, in 2002. She then wrote music for a few movies, including "Phir Milenge." Her previous album was composed for the malayalam movie "Maayanadhi."

She performed vocals for several tamil films, including "Kadhalukku Mariyadhai," "Bharathi," "Azhagi," "Friends," "Paa," "Mankatha," and "Anegan."
