Subhas Chandra Bose: who was he?

Subhas chandra bose was born on january 23, 1897, into a prosperous family in Cuttack, orissa Division, bengal Province. His mother, Prabhavati Devi, was the ninth child of advocate Janakinath Bose. Netaji was always a nationalistic person; nationalist revelations frequently occurred in his early years. One such well-known instance from his time in college is the expulsion from the institution for his involvement in and performance of nationalist activities.

Later on, he attended the university of Cambridge in England's Fitzwilliam College. After that, he left for London, where he passed the indian Civil services Examination and was commissioned in fourth rank. Still, he quickly quit and went back to india after learning about the indian independence movement. He later founded his own newspaper, Swaraj, after being appointed newspaper editor for Chittranjan Das. He was chosen in 1923 to hold the positions of secretary of the bengal State congress and president of the All india Youth Congress.

After traveling throughout Europe, Bose penned "The indian Struggle," his debut novel. After winning the indian national congress presidential election in 1938, he eschewed british control and introduced the concept of Purn Swaraj, or total self-governance. He was elected President again the following year, but he withdrew to create the All india Forward Bloc. Throughout his political career, he advocated for total self-governance and was not afraid to use force and authority to see that through. In order to create the first temporary independent indian government, he assumed leadership of the indian Independence Movement in east Asia in 1943 and the azad hind fauj, or indian National Army, which was made up of indian POWs, soldiers, and volunteers. The purpose of celebrating subhas chandra bose Jayanti is to honor this great statesman who dreamed of an independent India.
